FAQ

Frequently asked questions

A few answers to help you get started with confidence.

Is there a cost to join?

The goal is to keep the Healthy Man Walking Challenge free or very low cost for participants, with sponsors helping cover materials like t-shirts, cookbooks, and workbooks wherever possible.

What if I can’t hit 10,000 steps a day?

Start where you are. Some men may begin at 3,000–5,000 steps and work their way up. The key is progress and consistency. Every step counts.

Do I have to be in great shape to start?

No. Many men will start this challenge out of shape or with health concerns. Always consult your doctor before starting—but you do not need to be fit to begin.

Can women join?

This specific challenge is focused on men, but we encourage women to support the men in their lives—and to organize parallel walking or health challenges in their own communities.

How do I log my progress?

Once registered, you’ll receive access to the Healthy Man Walking Challenge Board, where you’ll log your steps and weekly commitments. You can also keep your own paper or digital tracker as a backup.

How do I host this at my church or workplace?

Visit the Organizations page and reach out using the sponsor/organization email. We’ll send you a launch guide and next steps for forming a group cohort.
